About the company

MiniGarden was founded in 2019 by Anne Iren Håvarstein. She has previously workedwith digital solutions and has a background within communication and marketing.  As the interest for urban growing is increasing, Håvarstein has an idea to make it easier to succeed in small-scale urban growing, as existing solutions are mainly made for  experienced gardeners.  As of now, Håvarstein has cooperated with Inventas for the design process, established a research program with NIBIO and developed a prototype.

Background

Growing food in urban environments will be an  important addition to future food production . Environmental engagement and focus on establishing habitats for insects , bees and birds in urban  areas increased interest for growing ones own food , small  scale and ecological . Also, vegetarians and vegans are growing in numbers and  keen on learning about and testing home grown  products.
